Workshop
Exploring Spatial Data Infrastructures
19-20 January 2006, Wageningen, The Netherlands
Location: Droevendaalsesteeg 3 (Building 101), Room Gaia 1
Many countries and organizations have depleted considerable resources on Spatial Data Infrastructures (SDIs), in order to provide the accessibility and sharing of georeferenced data sets. However, an assessment framework has yet to be developed for a systematic evaluation of these SDIs. The main challenge is to envisage an approach for the creation of such a framework, which will provide a critical view for looking to the future developments of current SDIs.
The aim of this workshop is to foster the discussion about the key research issues for developing an approach for the establishment of a SDI assessment framework. This will be done by oral presentations followed by discussion sessions on identified research issues.
The workshop will be focused on the following themes:
- Major SDI developments and implementations
- Main concepts for the establishment of general assessment frameworks
- Crucial criteria and measures of an SDI assessment framework
There is no charge for attending the workshop and participants are responsible for organizing their own travel and accommodation, however the availability of lower-cost university accommodation will be available.
Please send us an e-mail for the workshop registration before January 10th 2006.
