2nd HYPER-I-NET Summer School

Earth Science and Applications using Imaging Spectroscopy

In collaboration with HYPER-I-NET, EC, CGI and C.T. de Wit Graduate School PE&RC and Ruimte voor Geo-Informatie. 

The Marie Curie Research Training Network on Hyperspectral Imaging, called HYPER-I-NET and funded under the FP6 programme of the European Commission, is organising the 2nd HYPER-I-NET Summer School on Earth Science and Applications using Imaging Spectroscopy. The 2nd HYPER-I-NET Summer School is contributing to knowledge transfer and improved cooperation within and beyond the network, with a view to promote interdisciplinary approaches.

The Summer School 2008 will focus on:

  • PE&RC Day on ‘Scaling from Molecules to Ecosystems’
  • Various Talks on Spectroscopy Applications
  • Earth System - The Broader Context
  • Earth Observation for Societal Benefits
  • Where to go -  International Initiatives

The programme will include talks by experts from various fields, both in- and outside the remote sensing community, a Dutch PhD defense, an excursion and hands-on training.

There will be ample time for questions and discussions with the experts. All lecture material will be distributed after the summer school.

Participation:
The HYPER-I-NET Summer School 2008 is primarily open to PhD students and postdoctoral fellows but also to other researchers interested in imaging spectroscopy. Please note that the summer school is limited to 60 participants. Therefore, registration does not guarantee a place until you receive confirmation of your participation. All applications should include a letter of motivation.

The deadline for registration is 1 August 2008.

Course Fee:
The course fee for the full week is 150 € and includes course materials, lunches, coffee breaks and a summer school dinner. This non-refundable fee is to be paid after acceptance. Travel costs and accommodation have to be covered by the participants.
One day registration for the PE&RC Day on ‘Scaling from Molecules to Ecosystems’ is also possible and costs 20 €. It includes lunch and the Ice Breaker Event.
