From 17 till 19 October 2005 ISPRS WG VII/1 organizes the 9th International Symposium on Physical Measurements and Signatures in Remote Sensing (ISPMSRS). The 9th ISPMSRS provides an international forum for advancing remote sensing research with an emphasis on physical modeling, development of advanced inversion methods, and applications. It will be held at the International Conference Center, Beijing, China. The official language of the symposium is English. The 9th symposium is organized by the ISPRS working group VII.1 on ‘Fundamental Physics and Modeling’ from the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS), embedded in the Technical Commission VII of ISPRS on ‘Thematic Processing and Analysis of Remotely Sensed Data. The working group is chaired by Prof. Michael Schaepman (Wageningen University, The Netherlands) and Prof. Shunlin Liang (Maryland University, USA), and its secretary Dr. Mathias Kneubuehler (University Zurich, CH).
