Unit: Laboratory of Geo-Information Science and Remote Sensing
Location: Ispra, Italy

The school is organized by the JRC in Ispra and aims at PhD students and beginning Post-Docs from various disciplines.

Course topics include:
- Sensing atmospheric trace gases and aerosol in the atmosphere
- Atmospheric modelling
- Emission estimates from remote sensing
- Data assimilation techniques
- Processes of global land cover mapping
- Computer based training

Lecturers are from JRC and several leading institutions in remote sensing research.
Web-based registration (www.peer-initiative.org/metier) is open from
15/06/2006 to 30/07/2006.
Accommodation, meals and limited travel funding will be provided to the participants. The maximum number of participants is 25.
