METIER Final Conference
“Climate – Water – Biodiversity – Land Use:
Young Scientists Tackling Complex Environmental Challenges”
Brussels, 4 – 6 November 2009

Target group: All (esp. young) scientists and stakeholders with interest in environmental research, management, and policy
Financial support: Travel costs and living allowances of all eligible participants

METIER (METhods of Interdisciplinary Environmental Research is a Marie Curie Series of Events addressing cutting-edge methods of interdisciplinary environmental research needed for supporting environmental management:

  • Remote sensing /collection of environmental data,
  • Information management,
  • Geo-visualization,
  • Environmental modelling,
  • Environmental scenario analysis.

Idea of the METIER Final Conference
To gather all interested researchers and stakeholders, especially the lecturers and participants of the former METIER training courses and invited key note lecturers, to discuss ways to tackle the complex challenge of climate change – biodiversity – water use – land use using especially those methods provided by METIER.
