Tuesday October 23, a new publication “Imaging the future” was published in the Mansholt-publication series. The book has been edited among others by Adri van den Brink of the Land Use Planning Group and Ron van Lammeren of the Laboratory of Geo-Information Science and Remote Sensing. The publication has a close relation with the emphasis of the European Union to come to a participatory policy making process by the use of the European E-society.
Therefor, digital technologies play an important role. The use of geo-visualisation as one of these technologies are discussed in a theoretical and practical sense. The book describes several case studies in Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal and Spain. Besides the literal publications, the book comes with a video-message of Mr. José Manuel Barroso, President of the European Commission.
The book can be obtained by Wageningen Academic Publishers.
